Privacy policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026 · Version française
This policy explains what French Path Canada collects when you use frenchpathcanada.com and the learning platform (app.frenchpathcanada.com), why, and what you can do about it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
1. Who is responsible
French Path Canada. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is the founder of French Path Canada, reachable through the contact button at the bottom right of frenchpathcanada.com, or a reply to any email we send you.
2. What we collect
- Your account: name, email address, password (stored encrypted, never readable), or your Google sign-in.
- Your preparation: exam date, level and target, your answers and scores, the mistakes you review, your vocabulary and notes.
- What you write and say: your written texts; for speaking practice, the transcription of what you said and measurements such as speaking time. Your voice goes directly to the AI provider during the exercise and is not recorded by us. Audio recordings you choose to submit in the oral course are stored so you and your teacher can listen to them.
- Messages you send us.
- Payments: the payment providers send us your name, email, the plan and the amount. Never your card number.
- Technical data: what your browser needs to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (language, theme). On frenchpathcanada.com only, Google Analytics measures visits with cookies.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the service: your sessions, feedback, review of your mistakes and progress.
- To write to you: account emails, trial emails and session reminders. You can stop reminders from the link in each email or in the platform.
- To protect the service: preventing abuse, bots and fraud.
- To improve the platform, using overall statistics.
4. Who processes it for us
We rely on these providers, each only for its task. Your information is therefore stored and processed outside Canada and Quebec, mainly in the United States.
- Supabase (United States): database, accounts and file storage.
- Netlify (United States): website hosting.
- Bunny.net (European Union, worldwide delivery network): audio and video delivery.
- OpenAI (United States): the AI examiner, speech transcription, some translations and corrections.
- Anthropic (United States): the AI review of your writing.
- DeepL (Germany): translation of words you select.
- LanguageTool (Germany): spelling and grammar checking of what you write.
- Resend (United States): sending emails.
- Stripe, systeme.io and TidyCal: payments and coaching bookings.
- Cloudflare (United States): anti-bot check on the sign-in and sign-up forms.
- Google Analytics (United States): audience measurement on frenchpathcanada.com only, not on the learning platform.
The AI providers receive only what an exercise needs (your text or your voice during the exercise). Under their terms for business use, they do not use it to train their models.
5. How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your information within 30 days, except payment records, which the law requires us to keep.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access your information, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent, through the contact button at the bottom right of frenchpathcanada.com, or a reply to any email we send you. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the privacy authority where you live: in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information; elsewhere in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
7. Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), access to your information is limited to what each part of the service needs, and the rules that protect your data are enforced by our servers, not by your browser.
8. Age
The service is meant for people aged 16 and over.
9. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the platform or by email.
